Meet Calvin
Calvin Boone
My name is Calvin Boone, and I was born on June 20, 1953, in Newport News, VA, and raised in Conway, NC. I am from a family of seven and God has blessed me. I am a Deacon and a member of Victory Christian Ministries International (VCMI), and my pastors are Pastors/Apostles Tony and Cynthia Brazelton. I have been a member since August 31, 2008, and served in several ministries within my church. In 2023, I suffered a heart failure and needed a heart transplant. By the grace of God, I received it on August 7, 2023. It is because of God, my Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ that I am still here.
I thank God for the donor who donated their heart and the family agreeing that I receive It, and for all the people who prayed and visited me including my pastors. I have been married to my wife Anita for 34 years and I am thankful for her. We have two lovely daughters, four grandkids and one great granddaughter, which makes me proud.
I attended Northampton County High School in NC, and I joined the United States Army in October 1973 and served for (3) years. Later,
I attended Bladensburg Evening High School and received a diploma in June 1980. In May 1989, I attended Barclay Career School for Private Security and Investigation and received a certificate of completion. My work history includes working at the former Greater Southeast Community Hospital for eight years in Washington, DC and Electronic Data System (EDS) in Herndon, VA for eleven years. My last place of employment was with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) where I worked for sixteen years and received a Meritorious Award upon my retirement on October 31, 2016.
My hobby is playing tennis, and my football team is the Washington Commanders, basketball team is the Washington Wizards and baseball teams are the NY Yankees and Washington Nationals.
